Job summary

The City of Monroe (NC) seeks a seasoned IT and business systems strategist to coordinate the strategy, planning, and implementation of complex systems for energy services and city operations.

You will lead data integration, develop long-range plans, and oversee vendor engagements, testing, and training. A CS degree and substantial public works or utility engineering experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with considerable public works or utility engineering experience.
• Master's degree with specialized industry training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate strategy, planning, and implementation of business systems for energy services and city operations.
• Develop long-range plans for energy services business systems and process strategy.
• Create data models and utilize BI tools to analyze information for staff and stakeholders.
• Oversee system testing, vendor coordination, and issue resolution.
• Prepare RFQs/RFPs for business system and data intelligence projects and train staff on processes.
