Job summary

Western Midstream is seeking a Commercial Operations Intern to support the Midstream Scheduling team in The Woodlands, Texas. This internship provides hands-on exposure to how natural gas, NGLs, and crude oil are scheduled and balanced across Western Midstream-operated assets.

The internship offers mentorship from experienced professionals, exposure to industry systems and terminology, and opportunities to contribute to data review, reporting, and operational coordination during the summer.

Qualifications

• Recently graduated or currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• A relevant major in Engineering, Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain is preferred.
• Experience with data analysis or scheduling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn the daily scheduling process for natural gas, NGLs, and crude oil on Western Midstream-operated systems.
• Assist the team with reviewing nominations, production volumes, pipeline activity, and imbalances.
• Support daily, weekly, and monthly reports for internal teams, accounting, management, and customers.
• Help maintain accurate operational records and update scheduling systems under team guidance.
• Review actual versus forecasted volumes and help identify differences or trends.
• Work with teams to understand how information moves across the business.
• Assist with tracking operational events that may affect scheduled volumes.
• Participate in team cross-training and learn how scheduling decisions support reliable operations and customer commitments.
• Complete a summer project or analysis and present key findings, lessons learned, and recommendations to the team.
