Job description

Energy Scheduler

As an Energy Scheduler at TEA, you’ll be at the pulse of our trading operations, executing, tracking, and verifying key transactions that drive our business forward. You’ll collaborate with Power Traders and Portfolio Managers, manage daily and term transactions, create NERC tags, handle OASIS transmission reservations, and enter data into market portals and systems. You’ll support market activities, maintain accurate financial schedules, and ensure data consistency across teams.

Implementing Trades & Monitoring Market Activities
  • Execute and accurately record all trading functions for our clients, including generation, load, purchases, and sales.
  • Manage daily and term transactions by creating NERC tags, handling OASIS transmission reservations, and entering data into our market portals and systems.
  • Collaborate with external partners to confirm transaction details and support traders in responding to competitive market shifts.
  • Serve as a backup for other Energy Schedulers, ensuring uninterrupted service.
  • Stay in sync with market trends and client portfolio needs, providing timely insights.
Data Capture & Reconciliation
  • Submit and verify power and transmission deals, keeping everything precise and up to date.
  • Work closely with Portfolio Management and Commercial Strategy teams to support ongoing market activities.
  • Coordinate with back-office teams to resolve errors swiftly and accurately, ensuring clean data capture for Day-Ahead deals.
Technology Coordination
  • Partner with IT to resolve technical issues, contribute to problem-solving, and log work tickets.
  • Create and execute test plans for software upgrades, ensuring smooth enhancements and high-functioning systems.
  • Build expertise on market and software details to support clients with comprehensive knowledge.
Training & Professional Development
  • Document and update procedures, training guides, and process descriptions to support trading activities.
  • Mentor and train new Energy Schedulers, sharing insights and experience.
  • Develop professional milestones, advancing skills and contributing to team growth.
Auditing Historical Transactions
  • Ensure the accuracy of transaction entries to meet deal precision goals.
  • Maintain understanding of TEA’s risk policies and settlement rules.
  • Review and correct transaction entries, creating change tickets where necessary and helping to resolve disputes.
What You Bring to the Table
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university. Previous experience in data entry, finance, or accounting is highly valued (5+ years preferred).
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of working both independently and within a team. Flexible and ready to adapt to unconventional schedules when needed.
