Job summary

American Power & Gas LLC in Florida is seeking an Energy Risk and Portfolio Analyst to join our technical team on a full-time, on-site basis. You will contribute to power and natural gas portfolio hedging, pricing analysis, and Renewable Energy Credit tracking, using SQL, Power BI, VBA and Excel.

The ideal candidate has 2-3+ years in US power markets, strong analytical skills and excellent collaboration abilities to work with the Risk and Portfolio Management team on rate structures, scheduling

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Management preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and economical thinking.
• Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented.
• 2-3+ years’ experience in US power markets/load serving responsibilities.
• Proficient with Excel, SQL, PowerBI and VBA.
• Understanding of energy commodity markets and regional operators (PJM, ERCOT, NYISO, ISO-NE, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Understand North American energy markets.
• Lead rate-structure development for power and gas groups.
• Collaborate with risk and portfolio managers on analysis.
• Perform analytical research for pricing and operational changes.
• Monitor portfolio data quality for costing and scheduling.
• Understand contract details, fees, and payment schedules.
• Oversee rate pricing for power and natural gas businesses.
• Support risk team with ad-hoc reporting and process improvements.
• Identify and implement settlement and accounting improvements.
• Ensure compliance with trading and reporting standards.
