Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and bar admission in one or more states where the company does business.
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience in law practice.
  • Deep knowledge of legal and regulatory issues.
  • Familiarity with political and legal implications of company decisions.
  • Strong management skills incl. negotiating with peers and senior officers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead regulatory attorney with expertise in state and federal regulatory law and policy across the company.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations related to the company's activities and transactions.
  • Assess legal risks and advise management on strategic matters.
  • Participate in contract negotiation and ensure contract compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends in energy law and regulatory matters.
