Job summary
Penn State’s PennTAP unit seeks an Energy Quality Specialist to lead quality assurance, standardize reports, and ensure alignment with PennTAP methodologies across energy assessments for manufacturers. The role supports technical oversight, staff development, and credible, actionable energy insights.
Reporting to the Associate Director, the position may be based at University Park or another Penn State campus with a hybrid arrangement depending on needs.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of industrial energy systems, manufacturing processes, utility systems, and energy efficiency technologies.
- Experience reviewing technical reports, engineering analyses, and energy calculations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quality assurance skills.
Responsibilities
- Review energy assessment reports, calculations, and technical documentation for accuracy and consistency.
- Verify that recommendations and savings estimates are supported by data and standards.
- Evaluate ECMs and improvement opportunities for technical validity and practicality.
- Identify quality issues and provide feedback to advisors to improve deliverables.
- Develop and maintain quality control procedures and templates.
