Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an experienced Project Manager I-III to lead end-to-end management of large, complex projects within our energy operations. The role involves coordinating scope, schedule, cost, and risk, aligning financial and operational goals, and guiding cross-functional teams through detailed milestone planning.

Candidates should have advanced communication skills, a solid foundation in project planning, and experience with vendor contracts.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills; excellent written/verbal communications skills required.
• Understanding of core business processes/ industry trends with ability to understand/apply ongoing changes.
• Knowledge of project planning and business need justification process and methodology.
• Vendor/contract management experience preferred.
• Utility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Financial Management: Manage project financials including budgeting, forecasting, and actuals tracking.
• Project Planning: Lead requirements gathering and planning process for approved projects; develop solution design and milestones.
• Project Management: Independently manage detailed project plans to approved scope and milestones.
• Resource Management: Manage resources and contracts; mentor team members.
• Scope & Risk Management: Manage change requests and identify risks; develop mitigations.
• Relationship Management: Communicate project status to all levels and coordinate resources.
