Job summary

PurposeEnergy, Inc. is hiring a Project Developer to lead site development and manage the design-development process for anaerobic digester plants in the U.S. The role serves as the primary client-facing manager as projects move from sales into development and execution.

The candidate will coordinate with sales, finance, design, and construction teams, ensuring milestones, budgets, and schedules are met, while traveling up to 30% as needed.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated history of real estate closings, entitlements, permits, or equivalent energy projects.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, though relevant experience considered equivalent.
  • 4+ years in real estate development, project management, and energy project development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with team collaboration.
  • Analytical problem-solver with flexible mindset and risk awareness.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-changing environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, scheduling tools, and cost management software.
  • Fanatical focus on customer service for internal and external partners.
  • Experience with anaerobic digester project development is ideal.

Responsibilities

  • Locate and screen properties for digester plants, review feasibility, and negotiate pricing.
  • Lead entitlement and site permitting including zoning, variances, and permits.
  • Secure environmental permits such as wastewater and air quality permits.
  • Identify and manage attorneys through LOIs, purchase agreements, title due diligence, and closing.
  • Oversee site due diligence including traffic, geotech, utilities, Phase 1, and surveys.
  • Create and manage schedules and budgets from design through construction start.
  • Coordinate utility connections including electric interconnection and biogas flow.
  • Lead client meetings and align internal teams to milestones and budgets.
  • Prepare internal funding documents and coordinate with other functions.
