Job summary

Jacobs in the United States (Houston area) is seeking a Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to support electric utility capital projects across transmission, distribution, substation and related infrastructure.

You will assist with planning, governance, scheduling, cost and performance tracking, stakeholder coordination and procurement interfaces, working with Project Managers, engineers and clients to deliver on scope, schedule, budget and quality.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of experience supporting utility, infrastructure, engineering, construction, or capital projects.
• Experience in regulated utility, consulting, engineering, or infrastructure environments.
• Strong understanding of project management fundamentals and lifecycle delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers in planning and executing utility capital projects from initiation through closeout.
• Assist with project setup, governance documentation, scheduling and execution planning.
• Support progression through gated execution processes and coordination of meetings.
• Maintain project documentation, logs, risk registers and governance records.
• Prepare weekly and monthly project reports and support dashboard development in Excel/Power BI.
