Job summary

Amazon in the United States is seeking a Manager, Energy Public Policy for the US West region within AWS Public Policy. You will represent AWS before state policymakers on energy and infrastructure policy, leveraging deep knowledge of energy regulation and wholesale markets to shape grid policy across the western states.

You will build relationships with regulators, utilities, and industry groups, draft policy submissions, and provide guidance to internal teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of public policy and advocacy experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in policy research and analysis.
• Knowledge of energy policy and regulatory processes in western US.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute advocacy strategies to advance AWS energy policy priorities.
• Engage state policymakers and regulators across the western United States.
• Monitor policy developments and surface risks to leadership.
• Build relationships with government officials and industry stakeholders.
• Prepare policy submissions, position papers, talking points, and other advocacy collateral.
• Provide policy guidance to internal business partners.
• Travel required based on business need.
