Job summary

AWS Public Policy is seeking a policy professional to represent AWS before state policymakers on energy and infrastructure policy across the western United States, including Oregon. You bring deep knowledge of energy regulatory, legislative, and wholesale electric market policy as it affects large electricity buyers and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Economic Development)
• Demonstrated expertise in policy research and analysis
• 8+ years of relevant public policy and advocacy experience

Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of advocacy strategies that advance AWS energy policy priorities
• Engage government entities such as BPA, CAISO, state legislative committees, state regulators, and other energy stakeholders
• Monitor and analyze policy developments, surface opportunities and risks to leadership
• Build and maintain relationships with government officials, regulators, and industry partners to advance AWS positions
• Craft policy submissions, position papers, talking points, and advocacy collateral; contribute to business review documents
• Provide policy guidance and analysis to internal business partners for planning and decisions
• Travel required based on business need
