Job summary

Environmental Law and Policy Center (ELPC) seeks a Regulatory Economist with a economics, finance, or business background to support ELPC’s work accelerating clean energy deployment and protecting the Midwest environment.

The role is hybrid in-person/remote, based from Chicago headquarters or regional offices, including Columbus, Des Moines, Grand Rapids, or Washington DC. Strong quantitative skills and policy passion are essential.

Qualifications

• Masters level degree with strong quantitative training.
• Experience in energy sector or regulatory contexts preferred.
• Familiarity with regional energy markets (FERC/MISO/PJM) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an expert witness in regulatory cases and hearings.
• Analyze economic, technical, and policy implications of regulatory proposals.
• Develop presentations, white papers, and reports.
• Translate complex concepts for non-technical audiences and present findings.
• Collaborate with attorneys and policy advocates across the Midwest.
