Redhorse Corporation is seeking a Legislative Affairs Specialist to support the Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation at the Department of Energy. You will serve as a bridge between DOE program offices, senior leadership, and Capitol Hill, providing strategic analysis and preparing executives for high-stakes engagements.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of policy experience, plus strong briefing, writing, and coordination skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field.
  • 6+ years of legislative/policy experience; Master’s may substitute for 2 years.
  • Experience preparing briefing materials for senior government or legislative officials.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong oral and written communication with stakeholder coordination and briefing delivery.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOE credentials/clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quick-turnaround, objective quantitative and qualitative analysis on legislative, regulatory, stakeholder, and programmatic issues.
  • Monitor, track, and report on federal and state legislative initiatives and policy developments impacting CMEI technology offices and programs.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end development of policy materials, including congressional testimony, briefing packages, PowerPoint decks, memos, and hearing prep documents.
  • Prepare DOE senior management for briefings with Congressional committees and staff.
  • Support strategic budget briefings and materials aligned with the Congressional budget cycle for DOE leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple fast-turnaround legislative affairs projects in a high-visibility environment.
