Job summary

Lambda, The Superintelligence Cloud, is a leader in AI cloud infrastructure serving tens of thousands of customers. This role focuses on energy origination, hedging, and commercial deal-making to support Lambda's data center growth.

You will originate energy agreements, build investment cases, and manage hedging strategies across power markets, working with utilities and fuel suppliers to optimize cost and risk.

Qualifications

• Meaningful experience in energy origination, commodity/power trading, or utility-scale power markets, with direct exposure to contract negotiation and deal execution.
• Analytical rigor building and pressure-testing LCOE, NPV, and IRR models.
• Hedging experience evaluating or executing power and gas hedges (swaps, options, NYMEX/OTC).
• Ability to translate complex risk and financial analysis for senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Originate Energy Agreements: Lead origination of PPAs and energy supply contracts; data center context preferred.
• Build the Investment Case: Develop LCOE and NPV/IRR analyses for various power strategies to inform site decisions.
• Own Hedging Strategy: Evaluate and execute power and fuel price hedges to de-risk GPU financing.
• Structure the Instruments: Work with fixed-price contracts, heat rate options, swaps, and gas instruments.
• Manage Demand Charge Risk: Model peak demand exposure and tariff strategies to reduce cost.
• Forecast Energy Costs: Produce site-level energy cost forecasts using tariff structures and market curves.
• Lead Negotiations: Negotiate with utilities and fuel suppliers on commercial terms.
• Track the Market: Maintain knowledge of RTO/ISO processes and tariff structures.
