Job summary

BCforward is seeking a Project Management Contractor to join the Energy Operational Excellence team in Minneapolis. The role focuses on leading complex cross-functional initiatives, structuring ambiguous work, and delivering executive-ready communications to drive results with limited oversight.

The contract runs 3–6 months, at about 20+ hours per week, with hybrid work. Strong PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft 365 skills are required to create concise materials and governance artifacts.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supporting complex cross-functional projects or operational-improvement initiatives.
• Strategic thinking with ability to translate ambiguous objectives into practical plans and deliverables.
• Ability to interact effectively with senior leaders and diverse stakeholder groups.
• Strong PowerPoint skills and demonstrated written and presentation-development capabilities.
• Excellent organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize, and deliver with limited oversight.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project plans, milestones, action trackers, risks, decisions, and status updates.
• Coordinate cross-functional workstreams, facilitate meetings, and drive follow-up on commitments.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and barriers, recommend solutions, and elevate when appropriate.
• Create concise, executive-ready presentations, meeting materials, and communications.
• Support leadership discussions by synthesizing information, clarifying decisions, and tracking actions.
• Establish practical governance, reporting, and work-management tools that improve transparency and accountability.
• Independently manage assigned deliverables from planning through completion.
