Job summary

SOCOTEC is seeking an Energy Project Manager to join our Energy Modeling group within the Energy & Sustainability Services Division. The role focuses on high-profile, energy-efficient projects across local, national, and international settings, involving collaboration with leading real estate developers and design firms.

The candidate will perform detailed energy modeling, contribute to reports, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to advance building performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Civil Engineering, Physics or Architecture.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) accreditation is highly desirable.
• Minimum of three years' energy analysis experience in a US-based consulting environment.
• Thorough knowledge of NY State and NY City Energy Code; knowledge of Passive House (PHI/PHIUS) systems desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to engage with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Examine field conditions and design documents for energy modeling. Represent details in the energy model.
• Perform advanced energy modeling using DOE 2.2 or Energy Plus following ASHRAE standards.
• Model building HVAC systems including chilled/hot water, DX, rooftops, and VAV systems.
• Assemble documentation on modeling methods, assumptions and results.
• Conduct energy audits, benchmarking, data gathering, and measurement & verification.
• Analyze energy savings and lifecycle costs for envelope, lighting, HVAC and building management systems.
• Perform Excel-based engineering calculations and develop reports on energy components and efficiency measures.
• Provide feedback to project teams on improving energy performance and sustainability.
