Job summary

SOCOTEC, Inc. is seeking an Energy Architect with 3–5+ years of experience to join our Energy Modeling group within the Energy & Sustainability Division. You will support Energy Project Managers on sustainability projects locally, nationally, and internationally, collaborating with leading real estate developers and design teams.

This role reports to the Senior Energy Analyst and involves training in hygrothermal analyses, energy code interactions, and connections between MEP and envelopes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field.
• Experience with architectural details is essential.
• US project experience with envelope U-value calculations is a plus.
• Experience with THERM, COMCheck, WUFI, or CFD is a plus.
• Knowledge of heat transfer and thermodynamics is a plus.
• Experience with Passive House (PHI or PHIUS) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform calculations of U-value for building assemblies across climate zones.
• Perform hygrothermal transfer (WUFI modeling).
• Perform CFD analyses where applicable.
• Document and maintain well written project reports.
• Communicate effectively with project teams and manage client contact.
• Provide cross-functional support to meet client needs and timelines.
• Maintain detailed progression of work from start to finish.
• Attend in-house seminars and scheduled team meetings.
