Job summary

Hanwha Energy USA, based in Houston, TX, seeks a Data Scientist to own the full ML pipeline for wholesale power and gas applications. You will develop and deploy forecasting, pricing, and congestion analyses, leveraging state-of-the-art models and large market datasets.

The ideal candidate has deep learning and time-series expertise, plus strong ERCOT and PJM market understanding, and can operate under pressure within a collaborative Commodities team. Houston office preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong practical knowledge of deep learning and time series modeling in energy contexts.
• 3+ years as Data Scientist or 7+ years as Senior Data Scientist in commercial energy applications.
• Solid understanding of ERCOT and PJM markets and emerging wholesale energy trends.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate ML life cycle across power and gas market applications from analytics to deployment.
• Develop production-grade forecasting and analytics models for wholesale power and gas markets (ERCOT/PJM).
• Build models capturing drivers of price formation: generation dispatch, congestion, fuel, weather, load, behavior.
• Coordinate model deployment and integration into downstream processes with monitoring.
• Develop a data visualization layer to present driver insights to business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with technology teams to extract actionable business intelligence.
• Communicate modeling details to stakeholders to drive impact and decisions.
