Job summary

The City of Austin's Energy Market Operations division seeks a senior supervisor to oversee wholesale market activities and staff in energy market operations. You will guide QSE trading, dispatch, and market analysis while ensuring compliance with ERCOT and NERC protocols and coordinating with partners and regulators.

• Bachelor’s degree plus six years related work experience; Master’s may substitute for up to one year.
• Knowledge of ERCOT and NERC operating protocols and guidelines.
• Experience in energy market analysis and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Supervises wholesale energy marketing, market systems development, and risk management.
• Oversees QSE trading and operations across day-ahead, real-time, and forward markets.
• Develops policies and tools to support wholesale market operations.
• Represents Austin Energy to ERCOT, generation partners, and market counterparties.
