Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Level I: Less than 2 years in electric utility industry; Level II: Minimum 2 years; Level III: Minimum 3 years.
• Proficient with SQL, Excel and PowerPoint; Python skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze ERCOT's wholesale market.
• Recommend design and system improvements.
• Build and maintain expertise in wholesale market and grid operations.
• Investigate and resolve issues in market and grid operations using power engineering knowledge.
• Generate and maintain market reports per protocol requirements.
• Develop new tools and methods for data acquisition, reporting, and analysis.
• Perform engineering studies using ERCOT network models to evaluate conditions and events.
• Test and validate changes to market applications.
• Support management and senior staff with technical guidance to PUCT and stakeholders.
• Attend stakeholder, industry, and PUCT meetings.
• Address and help resolve Market Participant questions and disputes related to daily market and grid operations.
• Build strong working relationships across internal departments.
• Escalate issues to Supervisor/Manager as needed.
