Meta's Global Energy Team seeks a highly experienced energy professional to identify, develop, negotiate, and manage clean and renewable energy supply solutions for Meta's data centers.

The Energy Manager, Clean Energy will support the development and execution of Meta's global energy strategy, leveraging expertise across project development, finance, regulatory, market, technical, legal, and tax aspects to deliver a cost-competitive energy portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a directly related field or equivalent practical experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, sustainability, corporate responsibility, or technically related field
  • 12+ years of experience in developing, acquiring, performing due diligence, and negotiating energy solutions
  • Proven track record of commercial success in negotiation and development of energy solutions
  • Experience representing business interests to executive leadership teams of potential suppliers and utilities
  • Experience with financial models for renewable energy projects and risk analysis
  • Experience managing multiple projects with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in utility and grid interconnection processes
  • Experience leading negotiations and projects
  • Strong communication of commercial, regulatory, market, and contractual details
  • AI skill development and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience implementing responsible, ethical AI practices

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, negotiate, and manage clean and renewable energy supply solutions for Meta's data centers
  • Support development and execution of Meta's global energy strategy with a cost-competitive energy portfolio
  • Develop optimal clean energy supply solutions leveraging experience across project development, finance, regulatory, market, technical, legal, and tax
  • Lead negotiations and due diligence efforts with suppliers, utilities, and stakeholders
  • Coordinate with executive leadership and internal teams to align energy strategy with corporate objectives
  • Incorporate AI tools to optimize workflows and drive measurable energy efficiency

Meta's Global Energy Team is seeking a highly experienced energy professional to identify, develop, negotiate, and manage clean and renewable energy supply solutions for our growing fleet of data centers.

The Energy Manager, Clean Energy will support the continued development and execution of Meta's global energy strategy centered on a supply portfolio of cost-competitive clean and renewable energy sources consistent with the company's overall strategic objectives. In this role, you will be developing optimal clean energy supply solutions by creatively leveraging your skills and significant experience across a spectrum of energy supply issues, including project development, finance, commercial, regulatory, market, technical, legal, and tax.

  • Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a business, sustainability, corporate responsibility, or technically related field
  • 12+ years of experience in developing, acquiring, performing due diligence, and negotiating definitive agreements for utility-scale clean and renewable energy solutions
  • Proven track record of commercial success in the negotiation and development of energy solutions
  • Experience representing business interests to executive leadership teams of potential suppliers, utilities, and other stakeholders
  • Experience working with financial models for renewable energy projects and energy technologies, identifying key risks and sensitivities, and leading all related due diligence efforts (financial, commercial, technical, and development)
  • Experience managing multiple projects and collaborating with all internal and external stakeholders and consultants
  • Experience in utility and grid interconnection processes
  • Experience in leading negotiations and projects
  • Experience in communicating commercial, regulatory, market, and contractual details to all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
