Job Summary:

Establish accountability for energy consumption across the District, develop and monitor the energy management program aligned with the Sustainability Plan, GreenFutures, and implement strategies to reduce energy costs and environmental impact.

Essential Functions:
  1. Develop and promote a District-wide energy conservation program involving all personnel and students.
  2. Audit energy and water consumption records; communicate findings to relevant staff.
  3. Prepare energy usage reports and budgets; develop efficient energy utilization procedures.
  4. Conduct needs assessments, awareness activities, and professional development.
  5. Ensure building compliance with policies and mandates.
  6. Maintain records of federal energy grants.
  7. Coordinate facility usage and space efficiency measures.
  8. Collaborate with Building Engineers to optimize energy use during summer programs.
  9. Manage computerized energy management systems and update as needed.
  10. Advise leadership on energy sources and conservation measures.
  11. Support contractual activities related to energy management and procurement.
  12. Participate in strategic planning and represent the District at relevant meetings and conferences.
  13. Engage with federal and state agencies on energy policies.
  14. Attend training to stay current with best practices and legal requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in energy management, science, engineering, business, or related field.
  • Five years of professional experience in energy or utility management, with at least two in a supervisory role.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of energy management methods, control systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Ability to develop and monitor energy programs, analyze efficiency, and communicate effectively.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time position with a pay range of $86,000 - $110,000 annually, including health insurance, paid time off, and vision insurance. The schedule is Monday to Friday, and relocation to Philadelphia, PA, is required.
