Job summary

Fervo Energy invites early-career attorneys to join its two-year Legal Rotational Development Program in Houston. The program features two one-year rotations across core Legal areas, with mentorship and hands-on exposure to contracts, finance, regulatory matters, land leasing, and compliance within a rapidly growing energy company.

Participants rotate under experienced attorneys, receive structured coaching, and may transition to a permanent in-house role upon successful completion.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Texas Bar admission is not required upon hire).
• 1–3 years of legal experience following law school.
• Excellent legal research, writing, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Demonstrated curiosity, ownership, sound judgment, and a desire to learn.
• Cover letter and writing sample required. Applications submitted without a cover letter and writing sample will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Complete two one-year rotations across core Legal practice areas and draft, review, and negotiate contracts and correspondence.
• Manage discrete legal matters from intake through resolution under the supervision of experienced attorneys.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, summaries, and other work product to support business decisions.
• Assist with commercial transactions, strategic initiatives, and legal projects supporting the company’s growth.
• Participate in internal discussions regarding legal risk assessment and practical business solutions.
