Job summary

Schlumberger-Doll Research (SDR) in Cambridge, Massachusetts seeks a Research Scientist to join the Process Technology Innovation team. You will develop technologies to improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon intensity, and advance sustainable energy solutions through rigorous experimentation, modeling, and data analysis.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across research, engineering, and business development to identify opportunities, define directions, and communicate findings

Qualifications

  • PhD or MS in chemical, process, or mechanical engineering, physical sciences, chemistry, applied mathematics, computational science, or related quantitative field.
  • Strong record of solving complex technical problems using first-principles reasoning, experimentation, computation, data analysis, or a combination.
  • Ability to learn new technical domains quickly and bring structure to ambiguous problems.
  • Demonstrated creativity, scientific rigor, and independence in research.
  • Strong quantitative skills including modeling, data analysis, programming, or experimental design.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Interest in translating scientific ideas into practical technologies for energy and sustainability.
