Summary

The Energy Innovation Advisor provides technical consultation for customer and utility-focused Technology Innovation initiatives. Develops expertise across operational technologies, leads major projects, manages cross-unit activities, and guides teams of Program Consultants and Analysts. Delivers high-level presentations to leadership, builds stakeholder relationships, and reports on program status. Provides expertise in on-site backup power generation (Microgrids) and energy storage, and participates in industry organizations.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, IT, or related field and 12 years of relevant experience in power or technology sectors, with knowledge of renewables, distributed energy, or grid technologies.
  • Or, High School/GED plus 16 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in building complex business cases using research and analysis.
  • Deep knowledge of emerging energy technologies and business models.
  • Understanding of energy issues, markets, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong background in R&D, innovation, pilot programs, and strategic thinking.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree (Masters or PhD).
  • Membership in professional organizations.
  • Ability to develop solutions for complex problems and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence decision-makers and establish relationships with technology teams.
Major Accountabilities
  • Provide expert advice on complex technical issues.
  • Research emerging technologies and develop programs like Energy Storage and Microgrid.
  • Develop test plans and oversee technical requirements.
  • Guide research teams and evaluate technology impacts.
  • Report on costs and trends to maximize benefits.
  • Resolve project issues and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Contribute to industry publications and represent the company in forums.
