Job summary

Panamint Capital, headquartered in Incline Village, NV, is seeking an Associate to join its Investment team focused on energy and commodity investing, credit, special situations and capital markets across the portfolio.

The role emphasizes financial modeling, due diligence, and structuring capabilities, with opportunities to work on asset development, interconnection strategy, and hedging strategies. The firm offers competitive compensation and a long-term incentive plan.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of experience in energy/commodity investment, credit, special situations or capital markets (recent graduates with strong analytical skills also considered)
• BA/BS from a leading school with strong financial modeling and structuring capabilities
• Differentiated skills such as programming or geospatial analysis a plus

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze power, natural gas and coal market fundamentals, FERC/ISO/RTO proceedings and regulatory developments to generate investment ideas
• Support asset acquisition and monetization: modeling, valuation, due diligence, data room management, legal/financial structuring and definitive documentation
• Assist the Development team on new asset creation, including technology selection and interconnection strategy
• Help structure commercial strategies to manage commodity risk via PPAs and hedging
• Support raising project finance, tax equity and other structured capital, and manage relationships with third-party capital sources
• Partner with Asset Management and Financial Services teams on portfolio optimization and major contract negotiations
