Job summary

CIBC in Houston seeks an Energy, Infrastructure & Transition Analyst to support financial modeling and deal execution in midstream, LNG, and carbon capture sectors.

You will work with senior bankers to build models, prepare analyses, and help with client proposals and presentations. This role offers exposure to a top US energy investment banking franchise and opportunities to advance within CIBC Capital Markets.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Math, Engineering, Business, Economics or related field.
• Experience in investment banking or corporate finance preferred.
• Strong analytical ability with knowledge of valuation techniques.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and audit sophisticated financial analyses and models.
• Prepare industry and financial analysis to determine client opportunities.
• Lead valuation exercises including DCFs, comps and precedents.
• Assist in developing client proposals for equity/debt placements and M&A.
• Organize presentations to potential clients and develop information decks.
• Conduct industry research to identify investment banking opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within CIBC Capital Markets.
• Assist in due diligence investigations.
• Prepare offering memoranda and marketing materials.
• Participate in external client interactions.
