Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm located in Dallas, TX, seeks a mid-level associate attorney to support its expanding Energy, Environmental, and Infrastructure practice. This position offers an opportunity to engage in high-caliber transactional work across the energy and natural resources sectors, including renewable energy initiatives. The role is ideal for candidates with 3–7 years of experience in complex energy deals and infrastructure transactions. The selected individual will play a significant role in structuring and negotiating deals, managing multifaceted agreements, and contributing to the development of major energy projects across the country.

Duties:

Manage and negotiate intricate transactions involving energy and natural resources assets, including mergers, acquisitions, and project developments

Draft and advise on commercial contracts such as power purchase agreements (PPAs), joint venture agreements, build-transfer deals, and procurement arrangements

Support clients with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts for renewable energy facilities

Advise on shared facilities agreements and operations & maintenance (O&M) contracts

Participate in project finance and infrastructure development matters

Collaborate with multidisciplinary legal teams on transactional and regulatory issues

Assist clients across various energy sectors, including oil & gas, renewables, and infrastructure

Requirements:

3-7 years of transactional experience within a law firm or corporate legal department

Background handling energy-related mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures

Familiarity with renewable energy project development and related agreements

Experience with EPC and financing documentation is considered an asset

Strong drafting and negotiation skills across a wide array of commercial agreements

Capable of handling multiple assignments simultaneously under tight timelines

Demonstrated interpersonal abilities and initiative in a fast-paced legal environment

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

Admission to at least one U.S. State Bar in good standing (Texas preferred or ability to obtain)

Skills:

Advanced legal research, writing, and contract drafting

Strong business acumen and attention to detail

Proficiency in managing client expectations and building professional relationships
