Job Title: Energy, Environmental, and Infrastructure Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A distinguished law firm located in Colorado Springs, CO, seeks an accomplished Associate Attorney to support its growing Energy, Environmental, and Infrastructure practice. This opportunity is ideal for a legal professional with 3 to 7 years of post-JD experience in sophisticated transactional matters related to energy, natural resources, and infrastructure projects. The role involves advising on commercial, development, and corporate matters within renewable energy and natural resources sectors.

Duties
  1. Handle transactional matters including M&A, joint ventures, build-to-transfer arrangements, and commercial contracts.
  2. Advise on power purchase agreements (PPAs), operations and maintenance (O&M) contracts, shared facilities arrangements, and procurement deals involving materials and equipment.
  3. Support engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract negotiations, especially for renewable energy facilities.
  4. Participate in project development and deal structuring across renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
  5. Engage with clients in the natural resources sector, including oil and gas transactions, where applicable.
  6. Contribute to deal teams, taking lead or supporting roles depending on the transaction scope.
  7. Maintain organized workflows, meet deadlines, and provide timely legal advice.
  8. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to manage deliverables and milestones.
Requirements
  • 3-7 years of experience in a law firm or equivalent in energy, environmental, or infrastructure transactional work.
  • Strong familiarity with renewable energy project development, contracts, and corporate transactions.
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating transactional documents.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with project finance or infrastructure development is a plus.
  • Oil and gas sector exposure is beneficial but not required.
  • High attention to detail, excellent writing, and analytical skills.
Education

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.

Admission to and good standing with a U.S. State Bar (Colorado Bar preferred or willingness to obtain promptly).

Certifications
  • Active Bar license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Additional certifications in project finance, energy law, or environmental law are advantageous.
