EPRI, a leader in energy research, seeks a Staff - Level III Energy Engineer in Palo Alto to advance techno-economic analyses and develop scalable tools for energy-transition scenarios. The role emphasizes data automation, forecasting for HVAC, and delivering training for calculators used in cost and emissions comparisons.

The position supports remote work from anywhere in the US and requires strong Python, MATLAB, and visualization skills, plus experience in energy systems and reporting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Bachelor's with corresponding years of experience in related fields.
• Experience in techno-economic modeling, data analytics, and visualization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct techno-economic analysis modeling to estimate energy consumption and emissions for NG to H2 transition scenarios.
• Automate data collection from 150+ sources and develop time-series forecasting models for residential HVAC sales (5-year horizon).
• Create and deliver training materials for calculator tools and knowledge base training sessions.
• Develop Tableau visualizations for industrial end-use model results and project deliverables.
• Develop frameworks and source code for cost and emission calculators; perform potential assessments for non-road equipment.
• Initiate SQA processes for deploying web-based calculators using Python-DASH.
