Job summary

Washington State University is seeking an Energy Engineer II to develop and deliver programs that support a wide range of distributed and onsite energy generation technologies and energy efficiency strategies for industrial and large commercial clients.

You will contribute to major initiatives like hydrogen programs, assist with grant proposals, and lead related funding activities while providing technical leadership across the Energy Program.

Qualifications

  • Positions require a Bachelor's degree in a relevant energy engineering discipline and at least two (2) years of related professional-level engineering experience.
  • A Master's degree may substitute for up to 1 year of the required experience.
  • A Fundamentals of Engineering certification may be preferred or required.
  • Registration as a professional engineer in WA, or eligible for comity.
  • Experience with energy analyses for large energy-using clients; onsite energy generation or energy efficiency projects.
  • Strong writing, organizational, and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver programs supporting distributed and onsite energy generation technologies and energy efficiency strategies.
  • Lead or contribute to strategic proposals and funding initiatives for regional stakeholders.
  • Assist with project management, outcome tracking, reporting, and budget management.
  • Serve as a technical resource for diverse projects within the Energy Program.
