Washington State University is seeking an Energy Engineer II to develop and deliver programs that support a wide range of distributed and onsite energy generation technologies and energy efficiency strategies for industrial and large commercial clients.

Position Details: The Opportunity
As the Energy Engineer II for the Energy Program , you will develop and deliver programs that support a wide range of distributed and onsite energy generation technologies and energy efficiency strategies, with a focus on industrial and large commercial customers. You may also contribute to significant projects or programs such as the Onsite Energy Technical Assistance Partnership program and our Washington State technical assistance program for green hydrogen.
You will also serve as a technical resource for other diverse projects within the Energy Program. In this role, you will contribute to or lead strategic relationship development, grant proposals, and funding initiatives to meet the evolving needs of regional stakeholders relating to energy. Additionally, you will assist with project management, outcome tracking, reporting, and budget management to ensure successful stewardship of grants and contract funding.
Additional Information: This is a full time (100 % FTE), temporary position. This position is overtime exempt.
Temporary End Date: This is a temporary position expected to end on June 30, 2028. The position is renewed depending on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
Monthly Salary: $ 9,550 - $11,216 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 , the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
