Job summary

Washington State University is seeking an Energy Engineer II to develop and deliver programs that support onsite energy generation and efficiency across industrial and large commercial clients.

You will lead energy program initiatives, contribute to grant proposals and manage budgets while serving as a technical resource within the Energy Program. The role emphasizes independent work, collaboration, and high-quality client service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant energy engineering discipline and at least two years of related professional engineering experience.
  • Master’s degree may substitute for up to one year of required experience.
  • Professional Engineer licensure in WA or ability to obtain via comity.
  • Experience providing energy analyses for large energy-using clients and onsite energy tech.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver programs supporting distributed and onsite energy generation and efficiency.
  • Lead strategic relationship development, grant proposals, and funding initiatives.
  • Assist with project management, outcome tracking and budget management.
  • Serve as a technical resource across the Energy Program.
