Job summary

Michaels Energy is seeking an energy engineer to support utility energy efficiency programs in Colorado. This position will perform energy assessments and detailed studies on commercial and industrial buildings, recommend changes to building automation systems, perform energy calculations, and write reports.

Technical tasks include identifying energy efficiency measures, performing energy engineering calculations and simulations, estimating project costs, and writing technical reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or building systems engineering.
• 1–4 years experience in energy efficiency, HVAC operations, or building energy investigations.
• Experience with utility programs in retro-commissioning, ASHRAE Level 2 audits, or rebates.
• Experience with electrification technologies (heat pumps, etc.).
• Experience managing building retrofit projects and implementing controls upgrades.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety standards.
• PE/EIT is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform energy assessments and detailed studies on commercial and industrial buildings.
• Recommend changes to building automation systems and write reports.
• Communicate with clients through onsite and virtual meetings.
• Travel up to 25% for on-site work.
