Essential Job Duties

As an Energy Engineer, you will assess commercial building systems to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs. Responsibilities include conducting energy audits, analyzing findings, recommending conservation measures, collaborating on projects, and applying knowledge of building automation systems. You will also review project designs, ensure energy standards are met, and communicate complex concepts effectively.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. Licensure by the North Carolina Board may be required.

Other Required Qualifications

• Passion for sustainability and energy reduction.
• Leadership skills to guide teams towards energy goals.
• Strong customer service, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of utility meters, electrical systems, and energy codes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in energy services, utilities, or consulting.
• Energy efficiency training/certifications such as CEM, CEA, or LEED.
• PE or Certified Energy Manager credentials preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid North Carolina driver’s license required within 60 days of hire.
