Job summary

NWCCOG Energy Program seeks an Energy Technician to install energy-saving improvements and safety measures in homes across a large Colorado region. Techs insulate, seal air leaks, and retrofit lighting and thermostats while maintaining clear records and communicating with clients.

The role demands physical work, driving, and adherence to safety standards. Entry-level position with on-site field duties, training provided, and opportunities for advancement into supervisory or lead technician roles

Qualifications

• Gains knowledge of building science principles and energy conservation.
• Proven mechanical aptitude and ability to follow technical instructions.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in diverse settings.

Responsibilities

• Installs basic energy-saving measures and retrofits in homes.
• Insulates attics, crawl spaces, basements, or walls; seals air leaks.
• Performs simple, low-cost lighting, faucet, and thermostat improvements.
• Tests carbon monoxide and smoke detectors to ensure safety.
• Maintains documentation of work, receipts, and costs.
• Drives vehicles safely and communicates with team and clients.
• Assists with installation, troubleshooting, or repair of HVAC systems as directed.
