Placements24 is seeking an Energy Efficiency Consultant to join its sustainability services team in East London, SA. You will assess energy use in commercial and industrial facilities, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend cost-effective strategies.

The role involves audits, data analysis, and collaboration with clients to implement efficiency measures. You will help reduce energy footprints, cut operating costs, and advance environmental goals within the Eastern Cape region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy) or Environmental Science
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in energy auditing, energy management, or related field
  • Proficiency with energy auditing tools and data analysis
  • Knowledge of building systems, industrial processes, and energy-efficient technologies
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship skills
  • Certification such as CEM or equivalent is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Conduct energy audits for commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities to identify inefficiencies
  • Analyze energy usage data and patterns to develop tailored saving recommendations
  • Prepare detailed energy audit reports with technical and financial analyses
  • Develop business cases for energy efficiency projects highlighting cost savings and environmental benefits
  • Assist clients in implementing energy efficiency projects and coordinate with contractors and stakeholders
  • Stay updated on energy-efficient technologies, codes, incentives, and rebates

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and analytical Energy Efficiency Consultant to join their sustainability services team in East London . You will be responsible for assessing energy consumption in commercial and industrial facilities, identifying opportunities for improvement, and recommending cost-effective energy-saving strategies. This role involves conducting energy audits, analyzing data, and collaborating with clients to implement efficiency measures. You will play a vital role in helping businesses reduce their energy footprint, lower operational costs, and contribute to environmental sustainability goals within the Eastern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive energy audits of commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities to identify areas of inefficiency.
  • Analyze energy usage data and consumption patterns to develop tailored energy-saving recommendations.
  • Prepare detailed energy audit reports, including technical and financial analyses of proposed efficiency measures.
  • Develop and present business cases for energy efficiency projects to clients, highlighting cost savings and environmental benefits.
  • Assist clients in the implementation of energy efficiency projects, coordinating with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest energy-efficient technologies, building codes, and relevant incentives and rebates.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy), Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in energy auditing, energy management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using energy auditing tools and software, and strong data analysis skills.

  • Certification such as CEM (Certified Energy Manager) or equivalent is highly desirable.
