Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking candidates for the Energy Developer Solutions Internship beginning in May or June 2027. This fully remote role offers 40 hours per week for a 12-week program, aimed at advancing power systems modeling and grid analysis.

Pursuing a master’s in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems, you’ll analyze transmission and distribution models, collaborate with energy experts, and contribute to cutting-edge software used to decarbonize the grid.

  • Pursuing a master’s degree Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • Ability to work remotely full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week program.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Applying transmission and/or distribution power system model topology changes.
  • Analyzing transmission and/or distribution power systems through steady state, short circuit, or transient stability studies.
  • Conducting research on processes and guidelines for load and generation interconnections to the power grid, and new challenges for the grid.
  • Working with experts in the Energy industry who have developed the software, products, and services that electrify the world.

We are seeking qualified candidates for our Energy Developer Solutions Internship beginning in May or June 2027. This is a fully remote role.
You’ll make an impact by:
  • Applying transmission and/or distribution power system model topology changes.
  • Analyzing transmission and/or distribution power systems through steady state, short circuit, or transient stability studies.
  • Conducting research on the processes and guidelines for load and generation interconnections to the power grid & new challenges for the future of the grid.
  • Working with experts in the Energy industry who have developed the software, products, and services that electrify the world.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a master’s degree Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • Ability to work remotely full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week program.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
  • This internship is a structured experiential learning program for individuals currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program who will continue their studies following the assignment. Current and continuing enrollment is a condition of participation. Applicants who have completed or expect to complete their educational program before or during the assignment period are encouraged to explore our Early Career Development Program opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiar with Python programming languages.
  • Familiarity with Transmission Power System Simulation Software and Distribution Power System Simulation Software.
  • Working knowledge of applications of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • Experience using collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Slack, or Discord.
  • Ability to work effectively with multinational and diverse groups and demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Self-starter with good time management skills and the capacity to effectively prioritize a variety of concurrent activities.
  • Comfortable working as part of a fully remote team, with the initiative and self-direction to work independently and collaborate effectively.

You’ll Benefit From

The hourly pay range for this position is $35 per hour for first time Interns or $35 per hour for returning Interns. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
