Day One Partners is partnering with a leading financial services and infrastructure firm focused on digital assets and energy optimization. They are seeking an Energy Data Scientist to join their power team, supporting a growing Bitcoin mining operation. This role will play a key part in optimizing energy usage, forecasting power market exposure, and identifying opportunities to enhance grid reliability.

This is a highly collaborative role working across internal teams, energy markets, and Bitcoin mining sites. Ideal candidates are analytical problem-solvers who can build models, manage complex datasets, and deliver actionable insights that improve operational efficiency and financial outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Model, forecast, and optimize energy exposures across multiple regulated and deregulated power markets
• Analyze ASIC fleet compositions and hash price scenarios to maximize efficiency
• Build robust data pipelines for real-time monitoring and optimization of mining operations
• Quantify and support participation in ancillary services programs that provide value to power grids
• Deliver timely and accurate data analysis to cross-functional teams
• Collaborate with engineering teams to build and scale data workflows and ETL pipelines
• Provide actionable insights that inform strategy and improve decision-making across the business
• Help define and implement new processes, ensuring scalability and operational integrity

What We’re Looking For

• 3-4+ years of experience in data science or data analysis, ideally within energy markets, financial services, or digital assets
• Strong proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Grafana, Power BI, Metabase, or Looker
• Strong communication skills—able to present complex data and insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership, work cross-functionally, and drive projects to completion
• Familiarity with cloud services (Snowflake, AWS) and ETL frameworks is a plus
• SQL knowledge is a plus
