The Role

The Data Science team at Cash App derives valuable insights from our unique datasets and turns those insights into actions that improve the customer experience. As a Data Scientist on our Marketing team, you will play a critical role in accelerating Cash App’s growth by creating and improving user acquisition strategies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including finance, marketing, and product management to explore new opportunities and help Cash App become the top provider of primary banking services.

You Will

• Build models to optimize user acquisition efforts for maximum ROI
• Design and analyze A/B experiments to evaluate marketing campaigns
• Support audience sizing and track campaign results
• Analyze large datasets using SQL and scripting languages to surface insights
• Partner with the Marketing team to influence their roadmap and success metrics
• Use statistical and mathematical modeling techniques to understand customer behavior and segments
• Build, forecast, and report on key metrics for strategy and decision-making
• Write code to process, cleanse, and combine data sources, creating useful ETL datasets
• Create data visualizations and dashboards for stakeholders
• Communicate your work effectively with team leads and cross-functional partners

We're Targeting

• A Level 6 hire: BSc +7-10 years, MSc +5-8 years, or PhD +3-5 years
• Background in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related field
• Experience in acquisition marketing analytics, funnel metrics, attribution models, and customer lifetime value
• Expertise in causal inference methods (e.g., propensity score matching, synthetic control, instrumental variables)
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, Spark, or similar tools
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
