Job summary

PIMCO in Newport Beach is seeking an experienced Credit Research Analyst to cover names in the Energy sector across Investment Grade and High Yield, with some exposure to Emerging Market subsectors. The role focuses on fundamental and relative value research, generating credit ideas, and communicating insights to Portfolio Managers.

The position emphasizes strong financial modeling, on-site analysis, and collaboration within a high-performance team.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of credit/equities research experience on buy/sell side, banks, or hedge funds.
• Energy sector coverage in either investment grade or high yield preferred.
• MBA or CFA is a plus; strong financial modeling required.

Responsibilities

• Provide fundamental and relative value research on Energy sector holdings.
• Generate credit ideas and discuss them with Portfolio Managers.
• Translate macro/regional views into model assumptions and write evaluations.
• Produce company evaluations, quarterly updates, and industry reviews.
• Interact with clients or client service professionals as needed.
