We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Analyst with deep expertise in the Energy sector to join a leading platform. This role requires advanced analytical capabilities, sector-specific insight, and the ability to navigate complex capital structures in dynamic market environments. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping investment decisions across corporate credit strategies.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform rigorous fundamental analysis of energy companies, including detailed financial modeling, liquidity assessment, and covenant evaluation.
- Develop forward-looking credit views by integrating macroeconomic trends, commodity price dynamics, and regulatory developments into sector outlooks.
- Generate actionable investment ideas across primary and secondary markets, supporting strategies such as long/short corporate credit and structured credit underwriting.
- Lead due diligence processes for new issuance and secondary opportunities, assessing documentation, structural protections, and recovery scenarios.
- Communicate investment theses effectively to senior stakeholders through high-impact presentations and written recommendations.
- Maintain ongoing coverage and proactively update internal ratings and risk assessments as market conditions evolve.
Requirements
- 4-8 years of experience in credit research or investment analysis, with a strong track record in the Energy sector.
- Deep understanding of corporate credit markets, including high-yield bonds, leveraged loans, and CLO structures.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and valuation techniques.
- Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills and confidence in engaging with senior investment professionals.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; CFA or MBA strongly preferred.
