Job summary

Cathay Bank is seeking an Analyst to assist in underwriting and monitoring the Energy Group Portfolio in Houston. You will work closely with the Portfolio Manager, supporting underwriting and, when possible, business development for energy lending prospects.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of underwriting experience, strong credit analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate with engineers and bank staff to maximize credit quality while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of loan underwriting experience or willingness to be trained.
• Must understand bank credit policy, risk management, underwriting requirements, and loan servicing.
• Strong knowledge of commercial and specialty group banking products and services or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage credit quality of the Energy Group Portfolio with PM and Team Manager.
• Collaborate with third‑party petroleum engineers on Reserve Based Loans to assess engineering evaluations.
• Develop knowledge of Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy lending prospects.
