Job summary

Constellation in Houston is seeking a Contracts Analyst to support the legal team by reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and analyzing Constellation’s retail commodity contract forms with a high degree of autonomy.

You will work cross-functionally with commercial teams and external customers, explain contractual rights and obligations, update templates for regulatory changes, and help educate colleagues on contract processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience, or 6 years of equivalent experience in lieu of the degree.
• 2-years legal experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal.
• Analytical skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving and independent decision making.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work.
• Computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, negotiate, analyze, and discuss retail commodity contracts and related documents in real time with stakeholders.
• Interpret and explain contractual terms, rights, and obligations to third parties and internal teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to update contract templates based on regulatory changes and business needs.
• Represent the retail legal department in meetings to educate, train, and improve processes.
• Execute direction provided by retail transactional attorneys and broader legal department leadership.
