Job summary

IREN is seeking a Senior Manager, Energy & Carbon Markets to lead procurement and management of its multi-gigawatt environmental instruments portfolio. You will evaluate Scope 1/2 opportunities, engage with vendors, and build business cases to expand sustainable energy strategies across North America, Europe, and APAC.

The role requires deep experience in energy markets and environmental commodities, with collaboration across procurement, engineering, and operations to support large-scale data

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of combined experience across energy markets, environmental commodities, clean energy procurement, or sustainability program management.
• Direct experience procuring or transacting environmental instruments such as renewable energy certificates, carbon offsets, or other clean energy attributes at portfolio scale.
• Familiarity with wholesale power markets and PPA structures; knowledge of GHG protocol helpful.

Responsibilities

• Execute IREN's annual renewable energy procurement and carbon offset purchasing, including counterparty evaluation and retirement documentation.
• Own IREN's environmental instruments portfolio across markets, with position tracking, budget forecasting, and regular leadership reporting.
• Identify and evaluate clean energy products and purchase opportunities; prepare business cases for leadership review.
• Evaluate Scope 1 and 2 opportunities, including clean firm energy and emerging technologies.
• Manage vendor and counterparty relationships across energy and carbon programs.
• Monitor environmental commodity markets and maintain internal reporting on prices and volumes.
• Coordinate with site Operations teams to reflect operating requirements of large-scale data center campuses.
• Lead Scope 3 reduction initiatives with Procurement and Engineering teams.
