Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana is offering an internship focused on on-site and remote energy audits for buildings and facilities. You will collect data on energy usage, analyze patterns, and support reporting with training provided as needed.

Ideal candidates are pursuing or have completed a degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related fields, with strong Excel skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Energy Management, Sustainability, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of energy systems and building operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with energy analysis tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Schedule

maximum 28 hours a week

Qualifications
  • Have a valid driver license and be able to drive to the location in and out of state.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Energy Management, Sustainability, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of energy systems and building operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with energy analysis tools is a plus.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Familiarity with energy auditing standards (ASHRAE, ISO 50001, etc.)
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, lighting technologies, or renewable energy.
  • Experience with data analysis or technical reporting.
  • Interest in sustainability, energy efficiency, and climate solutions.
