Job Summary

The Energy and Safety Standards Expert will bring their experience in the area of Federal and State energy efficiency requirements and safety certifications for appliances and equipment, including certifications such as UL, ETL, and Energy Star. The expert supports the company’s regulatory initiatives by distilling technical information for non-experts, communicating product requirements and industry standards, auditing documents and test results, supporting internal workflows and processes, and working proactively to ensure compliance. This role primarily focuses on managing commercial appliances, equipment, and other durable goods.

This role will also collaborate closely with Clark’s Procurement division, which procures private label and branded products for various distribution channels, including WebstaurantStore.com, The Restaurant Stores, Clark National Accounts, Clark Food Service Equipment, and 11400, Inc.

This is a hybrid position based in Lancaster, PA, but highly qualified remote candidates are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all products comply with relevant state, national, and international regulations (e.g., EPA, DOE, California Energy Commission, SASD), with a focus on US energy standards.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure prompt adjustments to maintain compliance.
  • Build and nurture relationships with regulatory bodies to support compliance and stay current with industry trends.
  • Establish and manage comprehensive safety programs throughout product development.
  • Perform risk assessments and implement strategies to address potential safety risks in products and processes.
  • Ensure product labeling and packaging meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams on regulatory issues, aligning with business goals.
  • Create and implement procedures to handle safety and regulatory issues, including product recalls and investigations.
