GE Vernova Advanced Research in the United States is seeking a Post Doctoral Researcher to drive AI/ML research for energy applications, collaborating across GE Vernova’s businesses, government partners, and external researchers.

This role spans fundamental research to prototyping in areas like power generation, renewables, grids, robotics, and manufacturing, with opportunities to publish and file patents. Travel about 2 weeks per year; US work authorization required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with minimum 2 years’ experience or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields with a focus on Machine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence.
• Experience in one or more of these R&D topics: (a) Training domain-specific large language models (LLM), (b) Development of time-series or multi-modal foundation models, and (c) Building and leveraging knowledge graphs for reasoning and memory.
• Demonstrated ability to write Python code.
• Candidate must be willing to travel a minimum of 2 weeks per year.
• Must have work authorization for the US. We are unable to sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this position opening.
• Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.

Responsibilities

• Work with teams of researchers on new and continuing projects.
• Develop software solutions for the application of Machine Learning to medical and industrial data.
• Implement and analyze prototypes and solutions for real-world problems.
• Employ software libraries, tools, and practices to implement efficient, scalable, and reusable solutions.
• Create intellectual property by writing invention disclosures and filing patents.
