Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Arthur S. May School in Poughkeepsie, NY for the 2026-2027 school year. The position is part-time and non-exempt, with morning and/or afternoon shifts following the school calendar.

Pay is $16.00 per hour. Responsibilities include supervising activities, supporting learning through play, and modeling a safe, positive environment while adhering to program policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or at least 1 year experience with children under 13.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
