Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Arthur S. May School in Poughkeepsie, NY.

This part-time, non-exempt role follows the school calendar and pays $16.00 per hour, with morning and/or afternoon shifts. Responsibilities include facilitating activities from the Healthy Kids Curriculum, providing a safe and engaging environment, and supporting attendance and registration as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, OR at least 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening.
• Positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while engaging with children.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, academic, art, etc.) and homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and engaging environment and serve as a positive role model.
• Observe state guidelines and program policies.
• Support program operations, including attendance, registration, and staffing.
